Repair or Replace

Position on Garage Door Openers Manufactured Prior to 1993
Belanger Garage Doors located in Biddeford, Maine. As a Liftmaster dealer we are committed to the highest standards of product safety.   Over the years,  LiftMaster® has led the industry in product safety features. We support Liftmasters product safety guidelines.

In the early 1990s, the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) enacted into law new rules requiring all garage door openers made after 1992 had external protection devices, such as  photo-eye  sensors or sensing edges, in addition to the internal contact reverse mechanism. Garage door openers made prior to 1993 are safe and reliable if installed, tested, and maintained properly.  Most of these older units are not equipped with photo-eye  sensors or other external protection devices, and do not meet today's safety standard.

To insure the highest degree of safety and customer satisfaction, we highly suggest that  pre-1993 garage door openers are replaced, as opposed to being repaired.

Belanger Garage Doors is located in Biddeford Maine. We offer Sales, Service, Repairs and Parts to all makes and models of garage doors and openers.
